Aweful amount of work doing a theme that really do everything as original theme do. The default Reaper theme has been something that has drawn me away from using the program more than I should, just because I haven't liked the theme. After hours of tweaking in the Reaper Theme source code, i finally end up with somthing like this : Having grown accustomed to using Cubase’s excellent MIDI Drum Editor through many years (decades, even!) of use, I found that I missed it when I started using Reaper.

REAPER is a powerful but sensible Windows application that lets you record, arrange, edit, and render multi-track waveform audio. Piolit : yet, another 'Cubase like' theme. Pro Tools can do this as well by using a “plug-in wrapper”, however Reaper is able to do this natively. Well, making music with Cubase for more than ten years leaves marks, I guess. Someone should inform me that i didn't upload proper zip theme file (the theme is working now). It provides an extensive set of features, but is a very small and lightweight application (the installer is less than 1 megabyte, and includes many effects and a sample project). Hey all, I've been a Reaper user for about 5 years or so, and I've been using themes for most of it. Messages: 30,199 There are themes that make Reaper look like analog mixing consoles, as well as some that come as close as possible to duplicating the UIs of popular DAWs like Pro Tools, Cubase and Logic. An other one again, you could say, and from a Reaper newbie. In fact, the only thing missing in comparison to Cubase, Logic, Sonar et al is a ton of sample content and a decent set of virtual instruments. In reaper you can group tracks together, it works similar to the Cubase Folders but it’s actually easier to do in reaper.

As others said, initial setup will take some time ( could be just few hours depending on your needs) but then it i very smooth. Aside from these minor drawbacks, Cubase is a near-perfect DAW for composers. Theming isn’t something you can just start poking around with and learn in an afternoon. One that I liked quite a bit Konzentration or similar.

Unlike most DAWs, Reaper doesn’t offer pre-programmed audio libraries and flamboyant virtual instruments but makes up in giving its users the best quality of the fundamental tools need in music production and editing.
